Maxwell Hammond is the Founder and President of MK Energy & Defense, bringing more than twenty-five years of experience leading complex, high-value projects across the Department of Energy (DOE), Department of Defense (DoD), and global oil and gas industries. Known for his ability to unite multidisciplinary teams under a shared mission, Maxwell has successfully delivered multi-billion-dollar EPC and infrastructure programs with workforces exceeding 10,000 personnel across multiple continents.

Before establishing MK Energy & Defense, Maxwell served as Senior Director of the Project Management Resource Center at the Los Alamos National Laboratory in Los Alamos, New Mexico, where he managed an organization encompassing project management, construction, project controls, PMRC IT, and training. He set strategic direction in partnership with DOE and NNSA leadership, guided change management for the laboratory’s largest capital initiatives, and fostered a culture of professional growth and operational excellence.

Previously, Maxwell held senior project management and project controls leadership roles with BP in the U.S., Middle East, and Alaska, and represented BP within the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) joint venture. His portfolio includes major field developments such as the Bab Integrated Facilities Project and the Khazzan Central Processing Facility, both benchmarked as best-in-class for safety and delivery performance. His expertise spans cost engineering, risk management, earned value systems (EIA-748/DOE 413.3B), and construction execution — disciplines he integrates into every client engagement to drive precision, accountability, and measurable results.

Maxwell holds a Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Business Administration from Georgia Southern University, along with DOE “Q” clearance and a Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification. Across his career, he has earned a reputation for developing motivated, high-performing teams and fostering collaboration at every level — from construction sites to executive boardrooms.
